How do I find personals that are ACTUALLY FREE, and/or accept payment w/o a credit card? I've loked into personals sites that say FREE and then they ask for credit card info just to view messages from women I contacted. If it's FREE, what do they need a credit card for? Also, I feel I'm being denied access to some sites because they only accept credit cards, while I am willing and able to pay with a check by submitting the necessary info. Some (FEW) sites do that, and I would/will only deal with such sites, because I PAY with good funds, and I don't pay interest and fees when I use my check(s) so I'm looking for those types of sites, and possibly TRULY FREE sites Thank You for your help Sincerely Vic G.

why do merchants prefer credit cards to debit cards? Why do merchants prefer credit cards to debit cards although the former are more expensive for them? I have seen many a places (esp online) where merchants even refuse to accept the debit cards. I understand why credit cards are better for liquid customers (who enjoy the interest free loan if they pay the bills on time), networks and the banks (they get the commission) but I fail to understand what would merchants gain accepting credit cards when they have a choice of accepting a relatively inexpensive and almost equivalent medium of payment in the form of debit cards. Anticipating higher sales doesn't sound very convincing to me!

accepting credit cards? I am a small business looking to accept credit cards through paypal but I want to avoid a monthly fee. I don't want to use their virtual terminal option because of its monthly fee on top of the charge per transaction. My question is (since all transactions are processed from a home office) am I able to just use their free option for customers to input their cards through my website as my main form of processing or will I run into trouble by using the free option to essentially do the same as the option with the monthly service fees. Free Credit Report Scam???? I visited www.creditreport.com and requested a free credit report online. To do so they required my info and credit card number. All I got was an incomplete free credit report from Experian and an automatic free trial membership of their credit report monitoring system for 30 days. I have been calling to their 1-800 number for the past few days to cancel my "free" trial membership (so that they do not continue charging me for next month) and the phone is constantly busy. To make matters worst they required members to ONLY call in to cancel the free trial membership and do not accept fax or email cancellations. What should I do about this???? Please help!!!! Can i sue my credit card company? I try to make is short. Last year, I made my final payment on my interest free consumer credit card via online banking. When I got my following statement it shows that payment was not received and I incurred the interest that incurred while I was in grace period. I found out that the my consumer credit card change account number and that is why my online banking payment was rejected. I check with my online banking and for about 5 months my consumer credit card company was still receiving payment using my old account number...it just happened to be the last payment that was received and then rejected. I send them a letter along with my online banking statements showing why have they received payment for 5 months and not accept my last payment. To no avail, they did not want to work with me. Now, I have incurred $2000.00 and I don't want to pay it. I did pay send them my final payment along with my letter, but that is all they are getting. What should I do next?

What is so hard about paying off your credit card balance every month? I never understand why people think using credit cards is the sure fire way to go into debt. I've been using credit cards now for over 20 years and I have always made sure to pay off the balance every month. Not only is it very convenient, but I get tons of free perks as well. I get 5% off of my gas, 3% off at all restaurants, free rewards, etc. I pay for EVERYTHING via credit card. I love the fact that fast food places are now accepting credit cards as well. How long should I wait before canceling a credit card? the beginning of this year i accepted an offer for a first premier bank credit card. the reason why i took it is 'cause the APR is low. Once i received the card and received the first statment i noticed that there was a $6 monthly mantinance fee plus the finance charge. I have some credit card debt I was to consolidate, I moved into my house 1 year ago (I co-own it but no equity at present) there were people at the address with very bad credit and I still recieve the odd bill 4 them now. help me decide bw 2 merchant account providers? I am setting up to accept credit card payments. I narrowed down to 2 providers, AMS (advanced merchant svcs), OR paynet systems. Thay both seem ok, paynet being cheaper, but AMS having authorize.net gateway for free (which I could use with an online shopping cart). Anyone had any experience with either?
