Accept Payment Online

accepting credit cards? I am a small business looking to accept credit cards through paypal but I want to avoid a monthly fee. I don't want to use their virtual terminal option because of its monthly fee on top of the charge per transaction. My question is (since all transactions are processed from a home office) am I able to just use their free option for customers to input their cards through my website as my main form of processing or will I run into trouble by using the free option to essentially do the same as the option with the monthly service fees. Essentially, have a non-visible page on my website that I use for accepting cards.

Being charged a fee to run a credit card at the restaurant I work at? I work at a restaurant in Miami and I have a question about credit card transctions. Basically everytime we accept payment from a customer with a credit or debit card we are charged one dollar for every credit/ debit transaction. This dollar gets discounted from the total amount of money I'm supposed to make every night. I don't understand why I should be charged for a transaction that most retail / resturant pay for.... Is this legal?
