Orchard Bank Credit Card Online Payment Knowledge Base
I have an "HCS" charge pending on my credit card. What is it for? I have an Orchard Bank credit card and I always make my payments online. The day after my payment is posted, I see a pending charge from "HCS." Example: I just made a $150 payment yesterday and now there is an HCS charge pending for $149. The charge is never actually posted, it just remains pending for about a week and then disappears. This is the 3rd time in the last month that it has happened (I pay my card off a little at a time through the month). I am no where near my credit limit, but it is affecting my "available" credit.
Reporting to Credit Bureau as Retaliation? I have an Orchard Bank credit card and I signed up for DishNetwork through a company (GoDish) and they were supposed to charge me for the first 2 months and forward the payment to DishNetwork. Well, they never did and DishNetwork told me to dispute the credit card charge and pay them directly, which I did, and initially Orchard Bank reversed GoDish's charge. I faxed in all information to Orchard (copy of my DishNetwork bill showing where I paid them directly, etc). Orchard bank decided that they were going to reverse the charge and take the money BACK OUT of my account. I disputed it and told them I had faxed in all the information they required, etc. They sent me a letter basically saying they did everything that they could on their end and that I would have to take the dispute up with GoDish directly even though I told Orchard Bank that GoDish is no help at all, they won't speak to you or transfer you to a billing department. So I got mad and emailed Orchard Bank and told them that I was going to close my account because I refused to do business with a company that allows another company to rip you off and that I would tell anyone I heard talking about opening an account with Orchard Bank that they better think twice. About two weeks went by and I hadn't heard a thing until yesterday in the mail Orchard Bank sent me a letter saying that because I continued to dispute the charge that they were going to report it to all three credit bureaus!! Of course, this is in retaliation! Anyone with knowledge in this area please give me some advice on how to handle this matter. I believe, from a quick few minutes I had on break from work to look online, that I can contact the FDIC to make a complaint? What else do I do? How can a credit card company report me to the credit bureaus because I voiced an opinion? Last I checked, I had a right to Freedom Of Speech. TIA
Credit card bill due Sundays- what are the laws about late charges? So, I have a card that came up due twice on Sundays. Now, due to holidays and taxes and a big car repair, I've been waiting for a paycheck and laving my savings intact, so taht I pay just in time lately- always in full, and always in time. There were many years during which a Sunday due date meant a Monday payment was acceptable. Apparently, there are still laws in NY that a Monday payment cannot be reported against one's credit- but what about late payments? Is it a scam? A way to make money? An extra incentive to pay early? Or just plain bad business? The biggest deal is, my statement prints on the 4th, but I didn't get my statement till the 21st! With the amount of hooks, yes, the things that read every keystorke, as well as viruses, that we've been getting through my boyfriend's job as well as from home use (through thumb drive) I refuse to pay bills online. So, I'm venting, but anyway, I can't swing a late fee of $30.00 when I mailed my bill the day after I got it. And, I'm pissed about the late charges for the Sunday due date being paid Monday. If I call to complain, will they just cancel me? And what are the standards in today's changing economy? Is there a better card, because Orchard Bank was supposed to be the number 2 top card, and the customer service also stinks! (By that I mean to say that all calls are heavily automated, the people who answer are not American (what else is new?), and the people on the phone are all telemarketers with little interest in helping the customer.) Thank for all available info! PS I just called. Now, I wasn't too happy but I was curt. The guy from India or so was named Hansel, and onme when I told him I got the statement on the 21st, and then asked when it printed. He started to say nicely enough, "it was printed on the fourth of-" And then somehow, we were disconnected. Hmm, wonder how that happened.
If My Credit Score is 521 and I want to start rebuilding...? I checked my credit score online, and i have a 521, with only 2 strikes, one that was settled, and it says account closed, and another unsettled but already closed from last year with only $743 debt. I want to apply for a new credit card online to rebuild my credit, I couldn't even get capitol one Do you know of any cards I can get? I dont mind the APR or Annual fee at all, I just have NO money to pay upfront just yet, I am in between jobs so I can afford the payments soon, but I want a card for now just to put a few points back on my score to add it up some, because I am planning on moving down to my own place soon. I keep hearing about other places like orchard bank, but they all have an upfront fee or you need to give them a $100 deposit, is there any way I can get around this? what other cards are there? I dont care if its a $100-$300 limit, Just ANYTHING to build it up
How do I get a loan to finance the car I want having a limited credit history? I moved to the States in March of this year and right away opened up an account with a secured credit card from Orchard Bank to start building my credit. I am now wanting to buy a car that costs around 13,000. I have 5,000 cash for the down payment but it seems like where ever I apply for a loan online I get turned down because my credit history is only 5 months old. What do I do? BTW I have perfect credit for those 5 months and just checked Experian and it shows a score of 680 (I always pay off the full amount every month). I can have my husband or my Mother-in-law co-sign, but even though I put one of them down as co-appliant, my applications still get turned down (they both have really good scores too so I'm thinking the limited time of my history is the problem). Can anybody advise me how to deal with this? And does anybody know what I can do to build my credit faster?
