Does government assumption of bad debt from medical service providers lower costs for everyone?

This is essentially what universal coverage entails. Creation of insurance for all in order to assume bad debt from medical service providers related to non payment of medical expenses.

1. I hadn't thought about it in those terms but you are right. Everything that is being done about the economy is revolving around that premise. Obama has even stated that he wants to make energy more expensive so we are sure to get the cap and trade to force us to find alternative fuel. He does not want people to be independent of the government for anything because it is how he will put through his agenda. At the same time we are more and more dependent on foreign money to fund it all. What a complete mess.

3. sure it will lower out of pocket costs when you go to the doctor - as it also raises taxes on everything from ice cream to income tax to Carbon tax to paying a dollar to use a public restroom all the while lowering the amount and quality of healthcare a person gets. Except for the super rich who will be able to pay for their own doctors who operate above the system. yeah sounds just dandy
