Accept Payment Online

If an online seller accept Western Union as the only method of payment , is it ABSOLUTELY scam ?

I know that when the only method of payment is Western Union there is the possibility of fraud . I have these information from seller : 1-Company name 2-Address 3-VAT number 4-Phone No. 5-Incoporation date. Are you sure that all the sellers who accept Western union as the only method of payment are Scam .

2. I don't think so. I think they want their money . With Western Union they are garunteed their money and don't have to worry about bounced checks and waiting to get paid from credit card companies
3. -Check with the better business bureau for any complaints -Check ripoffreport.com -You might want to call and ask why they dont accept credit card, check, or paypal. -Check if its a US company -Do a www.whois.net look up the domain name and see if it is registered to a person -ask for a picture of the product (if its an individual) If they past those test then you did your research, just make sure that if it is a scam that you can live without the cash that you sent.

They could be new - most credit card companies, banks or payment processors require credit depth before they can provide a merchant account. If the business' credit report does not show enough depth..at least 24 months of credit is often the case, it may not get approved for a merchant account. For some merchants, it's just easier to deal with Western Union since it gets them their money faster. Just make sure they shoulder the transaction costs and not you. 2. It could be based outside the US - Look at PayPal for instance, it still has limited fullfilment for some countries. 3. It could be a high-risk business - Travel, pharmacy, moto, adult and gaming are just some business categories classified as high risk, if the business that you're dealing with falls into any one of these it maybe pretty hard for them to come by a merchant account. PayPal has pretty strict rules when it comes to adult businesses.
